9 Side Effects of Drinking Too Much Tea: Tea is one of the most popular and drinkable beverages. The most popular varieties are green, black, oolong, and many other flavors. The metabolization rate of caffeine differs in every person. If we intake 200 mg caffeine prior to 6 hours of bedtime, it may definitely disrupt our sleep.

4.Reduce the absorption of iron

Tea is full of tannins. Tannin can bind the iron in certain foods, resulting in it not being available for absorption in the digestive system.  It may cause a deficiency of iron in our blood.

When the iron level is low and you intake more tea, it can lead to exacerbating the condition. The exact quantity of tannin in tea depends on the way of preparation. It is suggested not to consume more than 3 cups of tea in a day.  Further, do not take tea after any meal because tannin available in tea can bind to iron in plant-based foods, reducing the amount that you are able to absorb in your digestive tract.

Tea leaves contain tannin, which has a bitter taste. If we consume one cup of tea empty stomach in the morning it may irritate our stomach and cause nausea, it may vary from person to the person and depends on the amount of tea consumed.  Some people feel this symptom by taking two or three cups of tea while others do not feel these symptoms by consuming 5 or more cups of tea. So as soon as you feel these symptoms, reduce the intake of tea immediately. You can reduce these symptoms by adding more milk to tea and taking some light snacks with tea.

The caffeine in tea may cause heartburn or aggravate acid reflux symptoms,  Caffeine may relax the sphincter and allow acid to enter into the esophagus which causes heartburn.  It may also increase the production of acid in the stomach.

Though caffeine intake may help relieve headaches. But routine intake of caffeine may induce headaches.
